How powerful is the infrared laser diode on a cd burner and what is it's wavelength?
how powerful is the laser diode (in mw) is cd burner? (16X 20X 24X I don't care just specify which please). Also, what is the exact wavelength? Is it near infrared or infrared?
Only about 5mW 780nm
Kintrex IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser Targeting
The IRT0421 Non-Contact Infrared Thermometer with Laser is designed to accurately measure temperature from a distance. Simply pull the trigger and aim the pistol grip thermometer at an object using the laser indicator and the unit will provide an accurate temperature measurement in less than a second. The IRT0421 has an advanced highly accurate infrared sensor with a Distance to Spot Ratio of 12 to 1. It uses two AAA batteries instead of the 9-volt battery commonly found in less capable units. With its low voltage application-specific integrated circuit, battery life is increased by up to 60%. This infrared thermometer provides accurate readings over a broad range of temperatures, from -76 to 932 degrees Fahrenheit (-60 to 500 degrees Celsius). It displays both the current temperature and maximum temperature on the bright backlit LCD display. Advanced ergonomic design and rugged construction for industrial environments, the IRT0421 comes with a nylon holster for easy storage and transportation.

Does a laser pointer emit infrared light?
Does a laser pointer emit enought infrared light for a infrared camera to pickup? Is there a way to filter out the Infrared light? Are there laser pointers that do not emit infrared light? Are there infrared laser pointers?
A true laser only emits light at one wavelength. If it emits in the visible, it will not contain any IR. I'm not 100% sure but I doubt there are any IR laser pointers readily available. There are IR lasers and IR emitters (like your remote controls) but there isn't much need for an IR laser pointer since you cannot see light in the IR so pointing at something wouldn't do much good.
Whats more powerful an infrared laser with 808nm or with 980nm?
I was going to buy a laser with burning capabilities when I came across two lasers with the same output power but with different wavelengths. I wanted to know which burns more, which laser is clearer, brighter, better.
PS: both: lasers are 1500mw.
If both lasers are 1500mW then, by definition, they have the same power.
When using a infrared laser pointer and night vision goggles, do you see the entire beam or just the dot?
when using night vision goggles and an ordinary ir laser pointer, is only the dot visible, on the surface that the laser is projected on, or do you see the whole lenght of the beam, like in green lasers?
I use IR viewers everyday and you cannot see the beam in the air unless it's reflected off something, like dust. Since I'm in a clean room, that's pretty unlikely to happen, so you only see the dot.
